Yesterday I promised to try out if Descript-O-Matic worked for me. I did not get to it until tonight and then only with limited time so I will quickly describe how it went and you can watch a short video to see the result.
The install was fairly quick. I downloaded, opened the file to start the installation, the software downloaded the necessary updates, finished the install and voila – it was ready to go. To be able to use it, I also needed to register it, but that is how it normally works, right?
I was excited to make it work so I immediately watched the brief tutorial and went along putting in my own data. However, the result was that it did not work – pissed me off big time, believe me :-).
I could not even mess with it to try and find what went wrong because my little one started crying (wanted to eat) and I was done with reviewing for the day. Fortunately I was able to finish my task today. However… it still refused to co-operate.
I was fairly sure though that grandma´s antivirus Avast had been the culprit and I was right. Just to make sure I looked at the trouble solving tips offered by the authors and sure enough they mentioned that this problem could happen and what the solution was. Life was great again :-).

Descript-O-Matic works, and it works fast. On top of that the price is not bad either :-).
The only con I could come up was caused by the antivirus which prevented the software to run properly. Once I solved that, everything worked just fine.
My verdict is that for the money it is a neat tool to have. I have 5 different YouTube channels and writing descriptions is a pain. Now I will simply gather the prep data for all the channels, store them in a txt file and just copy paste into the software and let it spit the description. Polishing it will be a breeze. If you want to see the finished unpolished description, check out my video below.
